Seismac

I have been using my new “MacBook Pro” for things that I need to do, but there are some cool apps that I can use on it that I would not be able to use on a PC laptop.

One of the coolest of these is Seismac. One can detect earthquake intensity or find out one’s own heartbeat with it. It uses the sudden motion sensors in MacBooks to measure the acceleration along 3 axes, and then plots it as a graph.

For the musically inclined, there is another app that turns the MacBook into a musical instrument. Of course, if you have a hard-disk equipped MacBook, this might not be good in the long term. Mine has a solid state disk, so I don’t need to worry about that as much.
