Unionpay available in Taiwan

Most places around the world use Visa, for some unknown reason. They charge high rates. As a result, few people have Visa cards in China. The predominant credit card/debit card there is the UnionPay network. Starting yesterday, that kind of payment is available in Taiwan. The one bank that gave me a debit card (harder to get in Taiwan than a credit card) – Taishin Bank – is one of the banks offering the service. Other banks could stand to learn from Taishin.

Now, if there were only an easy way to get my money from Taiwan into my mainland Chinese account…
