Glaciers melt, land goes up

For people used to reading about land under danger from rising sea levels, I bring you a report of the opposite – land rising significantly compared to the sea in Juneau, Alaska. As glaciers melt, the water goes into the sea for good, leaving little water where there once was water. The lack of water pressure pushing down on the land in the area has meant that the land has risen significantly, like the cushion on a sofa that had been sat on by something or somebody.
