Mailbox ads

Lots of ads are stuffed in the mailbox for this apartment everyday. Unlike other places, which often have a variety of ads, all that I’ve seen recently are real estate ads. They keep increasing, as if that would actually convince somebody to buy right now. Demographics are not on the buyer’s side here. Taiwan’s population will peak in about five years. Apartments in Taipei are extremely overpriced compared to what can get in other places like Tokyo.

There seemed to be some belief that mainland Chinese would show an interest in property here, but if they can only stay for 30 days out of a year, I hardly think they would want to buy an apartment.

There needs to be a large correction before anybody will start buying all the properties listed in the ads.
