Virtually Increase the Resolution of a Mac
Apple was supposed to make resolution independence available as of Mac OS 10.5, but there is still no graphical interface for it. Not all programs resize their windows and elements properly at different resolutions. Still, if you want to see more on the screen at one time, or make windows fit on a small screen, this tip is a good way to do it:
It works better than Windows – on Windows, one can only make windows bigger relative to the physical resolution of a screen (useful for people that find the text too small at standard settings). Windows does not allow one to change the fact that text looks too big and windows are already too big at standard settings.
