
除夕 Chinese New Year’s Eve
Today is one of the slowest days I have experienced in Taipei. During the day, it was not unlike a ghost town, though now some of the people still in town are setting off fireworks. The night market nearest me is closed, save for a few convenience stores.
The only people that seem to be out working are workers at convenience stores and 24 hour supermarkets, police, and security guards. I saw less of the police and security guards during the typhoon that occurred when I got here, so people that want to take things should probably do so during a typhoon.
Anyhow, even Yonghe Soymilk is closed:
