四獸山市民森林 Sishou Mountain Public Forest

Near 後山埤 (Houshanpi) station on the Blue line in Taipei, there is a trail entrance 四獸山市民森林 (Four Beast Mountain Public Forest).

From this entrance, it is possible to see quite a few places. I went on a rainy day, but surprisingly got treated to some spectacular views along the way. The view got increasingly beautiful as I went along.

Not all was good. I saw some interesting insects, only to see some of them get squashed later by people that didn’t pay attention to where they went on the trail. I would go back and forth exploring the various routes off the main trail.

Even when I was not on one of the peaks, I was able to see a beautiful view. The hike was more than worth it.

Eventually, I got to a place called Elephant Mountain. It isn’t really big enough to be a mountain, but it was big enough to provide some awesome sunset views.
