心之道 Organic, Vegetarian Restaurant
A bit more upscale than the restaurant I mentioned yesterday is 心之道. Their food tends more to European tastes than most vegetarian restaurants I’ve been to here. While a lot of places have mock meats in Taiwan, this one was kind of unique in that it had mock seafood.
They also have a significant Chinese language book selection. English readers might get by looking at some of the Yoga books with lots of pictures. I didn’t find much time to read – service was very quick.
The only English on their sign at 台北市大安區金華街140號 simply talks about being healthy and organic, so you would look for this:
I chose a Woodmen Tuna Spaghetti set meal. The “Tuna” was actually not Tuna at all, but a combination of mushrooms and various fruits/vegetables done up so they looked like Tuna. The set meal I chose included the main dish, “Polysaccharide Health-Keeping Enzyme,” Soup, Salad, Dessert (Yogurt available instead), and German Organic Scented Tea (which had a strong lavender scent).

Dessert – if I were lactose tolerant, I would go for the yogurt. The dessert was like the non apple part of apple strudel. Edible, but I could have done without.
