Street View

For all the complaints people have made about Street View in the US and in Japan, it is surprising that a Chinese upstart both has higher resolution photos and no complaints that I can tell of.

If you want to see a place I liked to go in Haikou a lot, visit this and turn around to face the sea. It has awesome air at night:

The Chinese site even tells you when the street was recorded. Too bad it is much slower than Street View elsewhere, at least outside of China. I’d think they wouldn’t want people to see certain things. The people there get a bit less privacy, since it seems the lenses on the City8 car were always clean. Many of the Google Street View images look like the lens got covered in dust, particularly at the front of the vehicle.
