崖城 Yacheng, near Sanya, but completely different

The day I left Dongfang on my bike trip, I wanted to get all the way to Sanya. It was not to be, and that ended up being a great thing. It was a great place to watch the sunset.

Not only did Yacheng have some awesome Northwestern food,

it also is the locale of the southernmost Confucian Temple within China. It is over 900 years old. Check it out:

Though I wanted to ride past Sanya that day, between Yacheng and Nanshan, I ended up spending an extra day.
