魚療 Fish Massage

Upon going to 保亭七仙嶺 the past few days, I noticed one of the places had something called a "魚療 Fish Massage." Given my general interest in trying new things, and the lack of any other legitimate massages, I decided to give it a try.

The so-called Fish massage uses a pool with water less than half-a-meter deep. In the water are many fish, about 3-4cm long. When I entered the pool, they did not come toward me. Once the water was calm, they came toward my body. The massage comes from many of these fish biting off dead skin. They particularly seemed to like the bottom of my feet, my hands, and the underside of my body. They never once attempted to bike my stomach, maybe because when I breathe, it moves too much.

Some other people thought that fish biting them was a little painful, but I found it ticklish at first. After awhile it became very relaxing. I could have spent all day in the pool, but it began raining hard (making the pool a lot less warm). The cost was 58RMB (around $7USD).

There is a lot more information about a similar facility in 成都 (Chengdu).
