No Internet for Me

I am back in mainland China, and back at my home, but without Internet. The places where I would normally be able to apply for Internet access are closed because the Chinese New Year begins tomorrow.

On a related note, I went out to a dinner party with other foreign students and friends from school last night. Many of the dishes had special meaning, but I noticed one was missing – tangyuan. Apparently that dish is only for the end of Chinese New Year. Nobody would want that now, since that would mean people would have to return to work.

In that spirit, I found a place that sold tangyuan today and I bought some. I don’t think the action will cause the China Telecom people to come back to work any sooner than they would have otherwise. But I can hope…
