A lot of people think money makes them happy, but only up to a certain point. Yet some of them really believe material objects bring them happiness.
My favorite quote regards the choice between buying a new car or taking a trip:
"Part of us believes the new car is better because it lasts longer. But, in fact, that’s the worst thing about the new car," he said. "It will stay around to disappoint you, whereas a trip to Europe is over. It evaporates. It has the good sense to go away, and you are left with nothing but a wonderful memory."
I have travelled a lot, so I have a lot of wonderful memories. Also, I think there is always a tendency to want to have a good story to tell about travel, whereas stories about cars are often not as positive (accidents, getting ticketed, etc.)
